Youssou N'Dour
Born on October 1st 1959, Youssou N’Dour is unquestionably one of world music’s best known artists. This is partly thanks to the Senegalese artist’s Grammy-award-winning album Egypt as well as his numerous collaborations with pop stars such as Peter Gabriel, Neneh Cherry and Paul Simon. N’Dour is also a powerful businessman at the head of a media empire in his native Dakar. In October 2007 he released his latest album Rokku Mi Rokka. |
